Meeting of the Secretary of State for Bilateral Global Affairs, Monica Gheorghiţă, with the Ambassador of Argentina, Felipe Álvarez de Toledo
 

The Secretary of State for Bilateral Global Affairs, Monica Gheorghiţă, met, on Tuesday, April 18th, 2017, the ambassador of the Republic of Argentina, HE Felipe Álvarez de Toledo.

The two officials exchanged opinions on the state and prospects of the Romanian-Argentinian relations, as well as on the calendar of bilateral contacts in the forthcoming period.

The meeting occasioned the assertion of the two parties’ interest in consolidating the bilateral political-diplomatic dialogue, by continuing the contacts between the two Ministries of Foreign Affairs, meant to boost the development and diversification of relations in field of mutual interest, as well as to identify new fields of sectoral interaction. In this context, the Secretary of State has highlighted the Romanian party’s interest in the cooperation in the fields of agriculture, energy, auto industry, and information technology. At the same time, she has stressed the importance of consolidating the bilateral legal framework, in order to facilitate the crystallization of the suitable tools to boost Romanian-Argentinian cooperation, especially in the field of economy and trade. She also encouraged contacts at parliamentary level, and highlighted the added value of diplomacy on this segment, carried out through the parliamentary friendship groups.

The Argentine Ambassador expressed the interest and full availability of the authorities from his accrediting state for further developing the bilateral relations in all fields, especially in terms of better exploiting the economic and investment potential available to both countries.
