Those who want to meet the traditional Argentinian tango will have the privilege to listen and watch live renowned artists interpreting this special musical genre. The “ArgEnTango” group – consisting of artist Analia Selis, cellist Razvan Suma, pianist Mariano Castro, bandoneonist Omar Massa and violinist Rafael Butaru – announced that will organize, in March 2018, when the feminine universe is celebrated, a new tournament to be held in 12 Romanian and German cities. After only one year in which the ensemble performed three national tournaments, dozens of concerts and two CDs recorded in live concerts, the “ArgEnTango” group has consolidated as an original tango ensemble, established in Romania. Following the national tournaments “Piazzolla, o poveste autentica”, the 1st and the 2nd editions, and the project “Tango la Cetate”, the group wants to continue the desire to promote the tango style, interpreted in a traditional and authentic manner, at the highest artistic level. “I am glad to come back on the stage and to continue the beautiful story of the tango, along with the other ArgEnTango members. With the Traditional tournament, we planned to establish a bridge between traditional Argentinian tango and the Romanian tango. Thus, the audience can liste traditional tangos by Carlos Gardel, Alfredo Le Pera or Sebastian Piana, orchestrated by a unitary manner in terms of sonority for this quintet, along with several famous songs in the Romanian tango repertoire” Analia Selis announced. In his turn, Razvan Suma, one of the members of the group, mentioned: “Femininity is celebrated everywhere in March. We wish to honor this moment by the seducing tango, a musical genre that sends a lot of feeling and passion, therefore it is the most beautiful declaration of love which we could address to our audience”.

The concerts of the “ArgEnTango” tour will be held according to the following schedule: Dumbraveni (March 3, at 19:00, the Culture House), in Germany (March 14, Kammermusiktage Barth Festival), Ploiesti (March 16, at 19:00, the Paul Constantinescu Philharmonic Hall), Satu Mare (March 18, at 18:30, the Dinu Lipatti Philharmonic Hall), Baia Mare (March 19, at 19:00, the  Baia Mare Municipal Theater), Lugoj (March 20, at 19:00, the Lugoj Municipal Theater), Timisoara (March 21, at 19:00, the Capitol Hall), Zalau (March 22, „Concert TenarisSilcotub”), Bistrita (March 23, at 19:00, Sinagoga), Cluj-Napoca (March 24, at 19:00, Auditorium Maximum), Bucharest (March 27, at 19:00, the Radio Hall). As announced by the tournament organizers – the “Analia Selis” Cultural Association, each concert’s special guests will be renowned tango dancers from all over the country: Laura Iaru and Csongor Kicsi – in Dumbraveni, Ploiesti and Bucharest; Ioana Lascu and Horia Calin Pop – in Satu Mare, Zalau, Bistrita and Cluj-Napoca; Oana-Maria Horotan and Adrian Mos – in Baia Mare, Cristina Daju and Alex Apetrei – in Lugoj and Timisoara.

The ArgEnTango ensemble consists of Analia Selis, Razvan Suma, Mariano Castro, Omar Massa and Rafael Butaru. Analia Selis is frm Tucuman, Argentina. In 1998, she was granted the “Music Teacher Diploma” by the San Miguel de Tucuman Music University, and in 2002 she was granted the “Diploma in Voice Performance” at “Longy School of Music” (Boston, USA). In the USA, she met the Romanian cellist Razvan Suma, which is the reason for which she moved to Romania in 2003. Analia Selis represented Argentina at the Golden Deer Festival 2004 and ranked 3rd. Between 2005 and 2009, she released four very successful albums, and in 2014 she debuted in the art of tango, in the national tournament “Va place tango?” (“Do You Like Tango?” – e.n.), along with cellist Razvan Suma and the Argentinian guitarist Julio Santillan. Thanks to its success, the tournament benefitted from a second edition in 2015, and since 2016, he is a member of the “ArgEnTango” ensemble. Razvan Suma, a concert soloist of the Radio Orchestras and teacher at the Bucharest Music University, is deemed as one of the most prolific Romanian cellists of today. Mariano Castro, interpreter, composer and orchestrator, was nominated twice at the Latin Grammy Awards (2009 and 2010) at the “Best Tango Album” category. As for Omar Massa, he is an ambassador of the Piazzolla’s music on the great stages of the world. He is a member and founder of the Quatrotango bandoneon quartet, being frequently invited to held masterclasses across the world; he came to Romania especially for this tournament. The last member of the group, Rafael Butaru, is a concertmaster of the Bucharest National Opera, of the Romanian Youth Orchestra of Romania, and of the Romanian National Symphonic Orchestra, being a constant presence as a violinist on the national and international music stages.
