Bucharest, April 18 / Agerpres / - Secretary of State for global bilateral affairs Monica Gheorghita and Ambassador of Argentina in Bucharest, Felipe Alvarez de Toledo, discussed on Tuesday about the state and prospects of Romanian-Argentinean relations and the schedule of bilateral contacts in the upcoming period.
According to a press release of the Foreign Affairs Ministry (MAE) remitted to AGERPRES, the meeting was occasioned by both sides' affirmation of interest for strengthening the bilateral political and diplomatic dialogue through continued contacts between the two foreign ministries, designed to boost the development and diversification of relations in areas of mutual interest and to identify new sectorial interaction domains.
"The Secretary of State highlighted the Romanian side's interest for cooperation in agriculture, energy, the automotive industry and the information technology. At the same time, he highlighted the importance of strengthening the legal bilateral framework to facilitate crystallization of the most appropriate tools to boost collaboration between Romania and Argentina, especially in the economic and commercial domains. He also encouraged contacts at parliamentary level and highlighted the added value of diplomacy in this segment, carried out through the friendship parliamentary groups," the release said.
The Argentinean Ambassador expressed the State authorities' interest and full readiness to authorize the development of bilateral relations in all fields, especially in terms of better exploiting the economic and investment potential of both countries, the release further said.
